The T4C includes Suunto's Comfort Chest Strap, made from fabric with special non-skid strips, ensuring that the strap will stay in place even when only minimally tightened. Otherwise, it is functionally the same as the T4. It is the least expensive heart rate monitor in the T line to include Suunto Coach, an automatic and highly flexible workout scheduler. After inputting some basic data about yourself and your current level of fitness, Suunto Coach will schedule your next five days of training. Based on the results, the schedule will continually be updated to ensure that you receive the maximum possible benefits.
Suunto Coach will modify your workout schedule automatically if you decide to go outside of the schedule, as well. All workouts are automatically scored on a numerical scale, illustrating your overall level of exertion in the form of a single number. At higher levels, the potential improvement in the body's endurance is greater, but this must always be balanced out by recovery time, which comes in the form of easier workouts. The T4C will take this into account, and continually adjust your workout schedule to ensure that the difficult is balanced by the easy, even if you workout in a way that Suunto Coach did not schedule for you. Through all of your workouts, the T4C will track the number of calories that you are burning, which will keep your motivation level high.

If you decide that you would like to collect more information about your workouts, Suunto manufactures a line of many different external sensors, including a GPS receiver, a cadence sensor for cyclists, and others. The T4C is compatible with any external sensor bearing the POD brand name. All of these sensors, along with the included chest strap, use ANT data transmission technology to ensure that your signal is not lost when you are near other wireless devices.
